That's a nickname that's stuck with me since I was a child.

Welcome to L'espoir Lifestyle - a little haven for thoughtful gifting & laid-back living.

I've always loved choosing thoughtful gifts - whether it's something sentimental, stylish, silly, or even practical, I hope every item sparks a smile, evokes a memory or reflects a shared connection with the person it's for…

My story is deeply rooted in family as well as a succession of some pretty big life events. Together these experiences have shaped my concept for L'espoir Lifestyle and my desire to create something where every product, big or small, elevates daily life and lets us embrace each mood and moment as it comes!

Back when I was just 3 years old, my parents left the hectic pace of London and followed my grandad's footsteps to a more relaxed, laidback way of living on Alderney, a little 'rock' nestled just 9 miles from the French coast. Believe me, it's sunshine for the soul!

Over the next 35+ years, Mum and Dad really valued their time there, from the slower pace to the social scene and having businesses that benefited 'island people'… firstly as owners of a popular bar & restaurant nestled in the heart of the island's cobbled town and later, running the clothing boutique 'Shirley's & His Essentials'.

From knowing exactly what shade of tights each customer liked to making sure she had just the right clothes for every eventuality (from meals out to unexpected stays in hospital), Mum had it covered.

And it really mattered to her.

After both of my parents passed away, and in the midst of Covid, my marriage break-down and an early breast cancer diagnosis - my sisters supported my dream of keeping a family business going… one that focused on a love of the laid-back life, the community spirit & 'Hope'.

And so L'espoir Lifestyle began!

My little boutique first (re)opened its door in July 2021…and just over 4 years later, I'm excited to introduce my new online boutique 'Lifestyle through the letterbox' by L'espoir.

My hope is to bring a little bit of that island feeling to you, your friends and family…

… because life isn't always laid-back & luxury but it's about balance, right?
